We treat YOU, not your pain symptoms!

We must emphasise that we often find underlying causes of your pain which may not necessarily be related to your pain symptoms.

We have listed various common symptoms on this site for your interest such categories are purely as illustrations and should not be taken as definitive or exclusive.

While we are specialists in the diagnosis and treatment of much pain and dysfunction, just as importantly we are always focused on finding the cause of your pain, not just your symptoms. So a pain in one part of your body may have its origin in another part. It is this attention to the symptoms and the causes that enables us to get such good results with patients. Please remember that everyone’s situation is different and some problems take longer to resolve than others.

What is pain?

Pain is a warning signal that something is wrong. It is one of the body’s natural defence mechanisms to alert you to a problem but also it is there to stop you from damaging your body further. Look on it as a red traffic light.

But what directly causes the pain? Often, it is the result of localized swelling of injured tissue, which creates pressure on nerves.

The skilled techniques of osteopathy can allow you a speedy return to normal activity. If you have had the pain for a long time and other forms of treatment have not helped, osteopathic treatment may be beneficial, although it may require time and patience. The osteopath will look at how your whole body functions and so be able to reduce strain on the painful area caused by mechanical problems elsewhere.

There are times when it is wise for you to take medication as well as receiving osteopathic treatment. Osteopaths frequently work in close co-operation with your doctor.

I have known Clive for over ten years, and in that time he has been the only person that I have ever known who can not only put every ache and pain right, but can also stop problems before they start.

I have referred no end of friends as colleagues to Clive and every single person has been astounded at his abilities.
