More about Clive Lindley-Jones

How we function and make meaning in cultures, groups and individuals has always fascinated Clive. Much of his life's journey has been focused in one way or another in exploring, learning and teaching in different fields to come to greater understanding of this.
After graduating in 1970 with an honours degree in Sociology and Education from the University of Sussex , he decided to take time out from academia and satisfy his desire to see and experience other cultures at first hand.
This involved most of the following three years taking him all over Asia and North America including spells in Indian ashrams, New Mexico communes, Japanese Zen temples and teaching in downtown Tokyo.
On his return to the UK he spent some years teaching Social and Religious Studies in London schools, and at the same time immersing himself in the twin practices of Zen Buddhism and an in-depth experiential study of Humanistic Psychology. This led to him developing a talent in bodywork and specifically working with and teaching intuitive massage with his wife Kerstin both in England and Europe.
This fascination with the way in which we heal ourselves lead to him finishing Social Science teaching to undertake the four year training to become a Registered Osteopath in 1981. He continued his interest in Psychology and by 1984 he gained a diploma in Transpersonal Counselling and Psychotherapy.
Clive kept up his teaching and was on the faculty of the European School of Osteopathy for over ten years where he taught Functional Anatomy and Palpation and supervised final year dissertations.
As well as being in full time practice as an osteopath for the last two decades he has made a special study of Applied Kinesiology. Clive enjoys the way that AK offers a more rounded picture of a person's condition, and facilitates an integrated approach to treatment.
In 1992 Clive became one of only half a dozen people in Europe to qualify as a Teaching Diplomate of the International Board of Applied Kinesiology. As such he has taught both basic and advanced post-graduate courses in Applied Kinesiology both in the UK and in Belgium, Holland and Germany. He was for some time vice-president of the UK chapter of the International College of Applied Kinesiology.
In recent years his passion for understanding how we heal and grow ourselves has led him to study Neuro Linguistic Programming, the study of our subjective experience or how we may model excellence wherever we may find it. He is a master and health practitioner of NLP and a qualified NLP coach. As well as taking further training in NLP in training and consultancy, he has studied Neuro Associative Conditioning with Anthony Robbins.
In the last few years Clive has studied and begun practising the Sunflower Method, which brings together all his skills to help children with learning difficulties to achieve more of their potential. He now collaborates with Mark Matthews, the originator of the Sunflower Method, to develop and teach the postgraduate training for Sunflower Practitioners. He is also on the Committee of the Sunflower Trust, the charity dedicated to furthering the availability of this work for dyslexic and dyspraxic children. The Trust is involved in researching the value and effects of the Sunflower therapy with the University of Surrey. It also runs courses in the UK and Germany, taught by Clive and Mark, to equip doctors, osteopaths, chiropractors and physiotherapists to qualify as Sunflower practitioners.
Today he is busy as a director and senior practitioner at Helix House Natural Health Centre in Oxford, UK; seeing children and adults from all over the country, and as an international teacher, trainer and consultant in the field of postgraduate medical education and management training.
When time allows he likes to relax by walking in wild nature and laughing with his wife Kerstin and their three daughters!
